It's a dirty bev, silly
There’s a new kind of sweet, slightly chaotic magic bubbling up in Randolph - and it’s coming straight out of Brooke Burgee’s Sap Shack, built in partnership with the long-standing Wood’s Vermont Syrup Company.
Brooke’s concoctions are… something else entirely. Imagine a messy soda mix dreamed up during mud season in an alternate universe - Twilight Zone, Randolph edition - where fresh-drawn Wood’s maple syrup collides with flavors no one would logically combine, yet somehow land perfectly in the moment we’re all living through. It’s weird, it’s joyful, it’s Vermont-but-not-Vermont, and it might just be the next fad to hook Gen Z, Boomers, and everyone in between.
And she’s not doing it alone. This summer, Brooke will be joined by a capable, spirited cohort she's put together - Keya, Misha, and Wendell - each bringing their own spark to the Sap Shack’s offbeat alchemy.

(Wood's bourbon barrels from Hudson Whiskey are used to flavor their locally made syrup. Free children's books. Art. Games. Soda.)
Brooke’s roots run deep here. Her father, Dr. R. Brent Burgee, spent nearly fifty years at Gifford delivering thousands of local babies and supporting the pioneering Gifford Birthing Center model that shaped family life across central Vermont. Generations know the Burgee name - and now Brooke is carrying it forward in her own delightful way, one wild beverage at a time.
If you know the Woods, you know they’re steady, patient, and steeped in tradition — which makes it even better that they’ve teamed up with Brooke, whose whole brand is “What if maple syrup… but slightly unhinged?” Think of it as Hebard Hill meets multiverse energy. The Woods keep the trees happy; Brooke keeps the universe guessing. And together, they’ve built a spot that’s equal parts heritage, humor, and high-octane maple mischief.
Sap Shack will be open 11–8, Thursday through Monday. Swing by, sip something strange, and enjoy the sweetest corner of Randolph’s alternate reality.
